.HHIP SCMT-431-EM NC-TiAlN Coated Carbide Insert for turning and milling carbon and alloy steels, tool steel and stainless steel. Semi-finishing geometry recommended for use with 300 Series stainless steels. Double-side chip breaker with M-class tolerance serves to reduce cutting force and workpiece adhesion when machining stainless steel. Possesses higher feed and depth of cut capability than EF chip breaker. ISO insert number is SCMT120404EM. I.C. is 1/2. L is 1/2. S is 3/16. d is 7/32. r is .0157. Provides a longer life than uncoated grades. Works well in high heat situations and offers wear resistance on alloys, stainless steel and ductile iron. It is a combination of 2-4 um NC-TiAlN coating and ultra-fine carbide substrate of high strength and toughness. It is suitable for milling from light to medium load and bore machining of all kinds of materials, turning of stainless steel from finishing to semi-finishing and roughing turning of high-temperature alloys.
